The Home Health Aide program will include covering all state standards related to training for: (1) Communication and Interpersonal Skills (2) Infection Control (3) Safety and Emergency Procedures (4) Promoting Resident Independence (5) Respecting Resident’s Right, (6) Basic Nursing Skills such as (a) recognizing abnormal signs and symptoms of common diseases or conditions (b) caring for residents when death is imminent, (c) measure and record routine vital signs and height and weight; (7) Caring for Resident Environment to include bed making, resident unit order, maintaining safety standards, and infection control, (8) Personal Care Skills to include bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, assisting with eating, and skin care, (9) Mental Health and Social Service Needs; (10) Basic Restorative Services such as use of assistive devices and proper turning and positioning in bed and chair; (11) Resident’s Right.

Class Hours

The 125-hour program is designed to provide the participant with the knowledge to continue their education and enter a job pathway in the nursing field. They will be prepared to work in home settings, group home and assisted living settings.”
